Partnership with Drancy, a commune located near Paris, has been established already in the 1960s. When devastating floods hit Prague in summer 2002, Drancy gave a financial donation to Prague 6 by which it demonstrated its immense solidarity with its partner city. In 2006, the mayors of Drancy and Prague signed a new Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation during their meeting. The partnership set a goal to develop cooperation mainly in the areas of culture, the environment, municipal administration, social policy, as well as to support exchanges and study visits of children.
